We are seeking a Junior Atlassian Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This position is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring administrator to develop deep expertise in Atlassian products and enterprise system management.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support our lead administrator in managing our Atlassian applications (Jira, Confluence, Jira Align) in IL5 and IL6 environments.

  • Learn to handle the day-to-day operational tasks essential to our mission's success.

  • Assist with user account management, perform routine system checks, apply patches and updates under supervision, and help resolve user-reported issues.

  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of Jira, Confluence, and Jira Align, including back-end support tasks, basic configuration, and user account creation under the guidance of the lead administrator.

  • Serve as a key support contact for users and team members, helping to troubleshoot issues and gather information for the lead administrator.

  • Help prepare and track Remedy-based Change Requests for application updates, installations, and other modifications as part of the change management process.

  • Support the lead administrator in performing routine application updates, security patching, and STIG updates to ensure system compliance and health.

  • Collaborate with team members to resolve user support tickets and assist in gathering information from customers and system owners for minor requirement updates.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a methodical approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 6, or more, months of systems administration experience

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or other ticket-tracking systems is a significant plus

  • Have a basic understanding of IT concepts, such as system patching, user permissions, and application configuration

  • Have experience in a customer-facing or user support role

  • Have a basic familiarity with cloud environments like Microsoft Azure is beneficial but not required
