We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
What You’ll Be Doing
Work closely with Team Leads, Project Managers, and Network Architects to coordinate routine maintenance, break/fix repairs, and planned changes.
Perform end-user support and Layer 1-3 troubleshooting, including physical fault isolation and cabling.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies and standards to ensure the integrity and security of the network infrastructure.
Perform firmware and OS updates to network infrastructure such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Harden network devices and perform Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) validation to ensure cybersecurity compliance.
Create, update, and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, rack diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Investigate network outages and implementation issues, driving them to resolution and briefing stakeholders on status.
Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and interns.
What You Bring
Basic Requirements:
Must have 1, or more, years of directly related experience
Must have experience with configuring, installing, testing, or troubleshooting of IT network systems primarily consisting of Cisco based LAN/WANs
Must be familiar with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls/IPS, Internal/External routing protocols
Must have, or obtain within 6 months of hire, a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
Must be willing and able to be read-on to a Special Access Program (SAP)
Desired Requirements:
Be proficient with LAN/WAN networking, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network troubleshooting
Have experience working within a classified environment, including the implementation and verification of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
