Job Description: VP of Operations
Location: Washington, DC - Remote | Periodic Travel Required


LaunchTech is a technology solutions provider serving federal and state governments and the commercial sector. We’re on the hunt for a results-driven and strategic Vice President of Operations with federal government contracting experience to lead and optimize our daily business functions and operational initiatives across federal, commercial, and emerging technology sectors. This role will be pivotal in maintaining our reputation for excellence while driving growth and innovation.

Must currently have an active security clearance (Secret or above) or be eligible to obtain one

Position Summary:
The Vice President of Operations will be a key member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the President and CEO. This role will provide strategic vision, leadership, and oversight to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the company. The VP of Operations will work closely with team leads and managers, translating company strategies into day-to-day operations and ensuring alignment with our mission and objectives. They will oversee business operations and back-office functions, including personnel management, information technology, policy, marketing, and external affairs. In addition, the VP of Operations will maintain quality assurance standards such as ISO, CMMI, and CMMC, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Strategic Vision: Execute and provide direction for the strategic vision for LaunchTech’s operational functions, aligning business operations with company goals
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily business functions, manage operational budgets, and generate status reports for the President and CEO, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with team leads and managers to implement company strategies, improve operational efficiency, and resolve cross-functional challenges
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Manage and coordinate vendors supporting back-office functions, ensuring their alignment with company standards and objectives
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and maintain quality management systems, including ISO, CMMI, and CMMC standards, ensuring compliance and operational excellence
  • Customer Engagement: Serve as a customer-facing executive, representing LaunchTech’s values and objectives while building relationships with clients and partners
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Develop and monitor operational budgets, report on financial status, and implement cost-effective solutions to optimize resources
  • Organizational Development: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, providing leadership and mentorship to team members and fostering a collaborative environment

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification: PMP certification a huge plus
  • Experience: 15+ years in senior management, with significant experience in a small to midsized federal government contractor environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with a record of effective strategic planning, operational management, and execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to foster team cohesion and client engagement
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance standards and experience implementing ISO, CMMI, and CMMC frameworks
  • Strong financial acumen and expertise in operational budgeting
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a growing, dynamic business environment
