We are seeking an Intermediate Cloud Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engineer, manage, and support cloud infrastructure products and stacks

  • Understand principals supporting Cloud infrastructure components including compute, network, and storage

  • Understand principals supporting application workloads within the Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services environments

  • Partner with existing enterprise IT organization to integrate cloud infrastructure/network environment with corporate infrastructure / data center environment

  • Experience using Cameo or other model-based system engineering (MBSE) tools to understand and elaborate requirements, create model designs using industry standard languages (UML, SysML, AUTOSAR, DoDAF, MODAF, UPDM)

  • Validate functionality early in development, and automate delivery of high structured products

  • Prototype, simulate and execute designs for early validation

  • Design standardized and reusable services that enable its development and/or business customers to achieve the organization's requirements for speed, resiliency, performance, repeatable and security

  • Engineer, implement, and continuously improve the quality of standardized and reusable services offered by the cloud services team to its development and/or business customers

  • Provide approved templates, images, and other reusable artifacts to enable consumption of standardized and reusable services by customers

  • Ensure all services and enablement artifacts are available, secure, and continuously improved throughout their lifecycle; addressing any service issues that impact development and/or business customers

  • Support and complete requests for operational support to include communicating level of effort and status to cloud leadership team

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent written and oral communication with the ability to communicate collaboratively in front of a whiteboard and senior leadership

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 12, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience

    • May be reduced with completion of advanced education

  • Must have 6, or more, years of directly related experience as it relates to cloud and on premise infrastructure engineering and support

  • Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ie Security+)

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience with infrastructure-as-a-service platforms: AWS, Azure, Soft Layer, OpenStack, etc…

  • Have Platform-as-a-service experience

  • Have an understanding of Mission Landing Zones (MLZ)

  • Have experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)

  • Have experience with configuration management and automation tools

  • Basic understanding of application development using Github or Bitbucket

  • Basic understanding of containers and container scheduling and management platforms such as: Docker, rkt, Mesos, or Kubernetes

  • Have experience managing traditional enterprise platforms for compute, network, and storage

  • Have experience with Cameo or other model-based system engineering tools

  • Have experience managing traditional enterprise platforms for application runtimes, integration middleware, and relational database

  • Have a current IASE Level II certification
