We are seeking a Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, configuration, installation, and test of IT network and boundary protection devices and systems within the MDA Enterprise.

  • Develop and document detailed designs with supporting implementation, test, and transition plans.

  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architectures, hardware and software selections, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

  • Support the engineering team to develop derived system level requirements based on collaborative review of project objectives.

  • Proficient in routing and switching protocols to include BGP, OSPF, TCP/UDP, VPN/VRF, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, SD-WAN, ISE.

  • Work hands-on maintaining and troubleshooting networks to include Cisco, Riverbed, and Broadcom products.

  • Produce work products that are of high quality and adhere to IRES and MDA procedures and policies including support for internal reviews.

  • Work products will include artifacts such as System and Connectivity drawings as well as DoDAF OV and SV documentation.

  • Review and remediate STIG Vulnerability findings.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong technical writing and verbal communications skills.

  • Be able, and have a willingness, to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience.

    • May be reduced with completion of advanced education.

  • Must have 4, or more, years of directly related/specialized experience in network engineering.

  • Understanding of networks, routing and switching, security, and firewalls.

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level I Certification.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to attain DoD Top Secret Security Clearance w/SCI eligibility.

Basic Requirements:

  • Have a current CCNA or equivalent certification.

  • Have a current Security+ certification.
