LaunchTech is seeking an Operations Controller Manager to serve as the strategic and operational leader overseeing all Operations Controller functions. This role ensures the seamless health, stability, and continuous operation of critical IT infrastructure, systems, and security across the enterprise. The Operations Controller Manager leads teams specializing in Desktop User Experience, Service Infrastructure, Network Operations, Application Operations, and Cyber Security, while driving proactive maintenance, monitoring, change control discipline, and continuous service improvement across all IT domains.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team of Operations Controllers

  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members to foster a high-performance culture

  • Oversee coordination and collaboration between Desktop, Infrastructure, Network, Applications, and Cyber Operations Controller teams

  • Manage resource allocation and prioritization across all Operations Controller functions

  • Serve as the escalation point for critical operational issues and incidents

Centralized Control & Coordination

  • Establish and maintain centralized control and coordination for maintenance, measurements, monitoring, and change management activities across IT domains

  • Standardize processes and procedures across Operations Controller teams to ensure consistency and efficiency

Operational Health & Stability

  • Ensure continuous operation and stability of IT infrastructure, systems, and security services

  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

  • Oversee maintenance and improvement of operational documentation

Incident, Problem & Change Management

  • Lead and coordinate major incident response efforts to ensure timely and effective service restoration

  • Drive problem management activities including root cause analysis and remediation engineering, collaborating closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Development teams

  • Oversee the change control process to ensure controlled, compliant execution while minimizing risk to service availability

  • Track and report key metrics related to systemic issues and operational trends

Process & Procedure Adherence

  • Ensure all Operations Controller team members adhere to established operational processes, including reviews, approvals, and documentation standards

  • Enforce Systems Engineering principles and processes across large-scale enterprise operations in a DoD environment

Communication & Reporting

  • Consolidate operational reporting across all Operations Controller teams to present a comprehensive view of IT operational health

  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, including senior leadership, regarding operational activities, incidents, and change events

Service Level Management & Improvement

  • Oversee measurement and reporting of SLAs and SLOs across IT services, delivering daily, weekly, and monthly executive rollups

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on SLA/SLO performance data

Overall Accountability

  • Serve as the accountable leader for IT operational health, ensuring controlled, coordinated, and compliant operations across the enterprise

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 14, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience

    • May be reduced with completion of advanced education

  • Must have 7, or more, years of directly related experience in IT operations management, including network control center (NCC) or enterprise operations center (EOC) leadership roles

  • Must have 1, or more, years of experience directly managing and leading IT operations teams

  • Must have proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams

  • Must have a deep understanding of ITIL framework and best practices including incident, problem, change, and service release management

  • Must have strong knowledge of IT security principles and practices

  • Must have extensive experience in IT operations management across multiple enterprise environments

  • Must be familiar with enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Netcool, HP OpenView, etc.) and APM solutions

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with senior leadership

  • Must have 8570 or 8140 compliant certifications

  • Must have, or obtain, an active Secret Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Information Technology

  • Have experience supporting IT Operations in the MDA or DoD environment

  • Have Project Management experience (PMP preferred)

  • Have an ITIL Strategic Leader or ITIL Master certification

  • Have experience with DevOps or SRE methodologies

  • Be familiar with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
